10 Thousand Smiles

Honeybee 10K miles

Today on the ride back home from Triumph Day at Larz Anderson, Honeybee, my Buell Blast, turned over 10,000 miles. I half expected it to explode, implode, disappear in a puff of smoke, fall apart, etc., but of course it didn’t. When I bought the bike 3.5 years ago it had under 1500 miles on it, and the rest has all been me. It has broken down on me only twice: the first time was out in the middle of nowhere in Western MA with a failed ignition module, and the second time was just recently on the ride back from Fighter Fest to my hotel. The clutch cable snapped. That’s it.

It’s been a reliable and easy to work on bike, as well as cheap, fun and practical. Thanks for the ride, Honeybee.
